A Little of This, A Little of That

Life continues to move right along with all the busyness of living with 225 kids! I’m gonna make this sweet but short. Saturday began with a trip to the cemetery to lay flowers at the graves of the four NPH kids who have passed away. Upon our return, as promised, my four birthday girls from January and February got together and we made a pizza…it was delicious! Right afterwards, we got out the bikes and skates and I rather unsuccessfully tried to teach three of my girls who don’t know how to ride a bike how it’s done…maybe next time!

On Sunday, we had 11 baptisms and 3 First Communions! A lot of the youngest and newest kids were baptized and Lucy, who happens to be my goddaughter from Confirmation, received her first Communion! Following that, the Canadians brought a bunch of us to the beach and we spent the afternoon in and out of the water and doing races through the sand!

Yesterday, Monday, was the final round of auditions to pick the 6 kids who will get to go to Boston and Minnesota this fall. The winners are (drum roll) Luis Manuel, Victor, Junior Natanael, Wislina, Bethania, and Estrella. There is SO much talent at NPH and these six are some of the most talented. Now that auditions are out of the way, the fun can really begin as we prep these kids for the trip of a lifetime!

On that note, I’m off to the airport to pick up my roomie from college, Leah! She will be in town for the next week. We plan on getting in some quality time with the kids and the beach! Can’t wait!!
